Greenans first customer purchased a stunning circa 1830 Russian Orthodox brass chrism pitcher. The pitcher housed holy oil used during baptism to induct new believers. Historically, chrism is blended with myrrh and other spices and consecrated on Holy Thursday.
Greenans chrism pitcher came from a Lithuanian church. Upon hearing the provenance of the piece, our potential customer wept. He relayed that his parents emigrated from Lithuania after World War II and were recently deceased. He purchased the piece in honor of his parents, and asked Greenans to keep him informed of any Lithuanian objects we might locate during our travels.
Heritage infers inheritance, tradition and guardianship. Greenans believes that heritage truly shines with large portions of celebration, kindness and love.
Whether tangible or intangible, heritage is priceless.
