A German Westerwald salt glazed grey and cobalt ewer c.1878-1883. Tall ribbed neck and two intersecting double rings. Embellished with heraldic badges and symbols. Westerwald pottery is from the area of Westerwaldkreis in the Rheinland. Salt glaze has a greyish white surface with a texture like an orange peel. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses as pictured.
