Before there was Oneida, there was Community Plate (1899-1930) from the Oneida New York Community. Our coffee set is the "Classic" pattern from the early 1920s and rare in that it has its original tray. It is a muscular object. No birds. No flowers. No scrolls. No doodads. Clean lined art deco form. Perfect on a sideboard or breakfast in bed after dancing all night. Loss of plating to sugar lid - see photos. A great artifact from New York's Roaring 20s.
