Minerva and Ares, stoneware pair of plaques by German Peter Dumler (1860-1907). Salt-glazed with cobalt and purple manganese decoration, depicting Greco-Roman mythology's war gods with assorted animals and birds to border, comprising one example depicting "MINERVA" and one example featuring "ARES", each having two holes to foot ring for hanging. Designed by Peter Dumler for Dumler & Brieden, Hohr, Germany. Fourth quarter 19th century.
